This section provides information for our clients who are preparing to have a countertop installed. There are a few things we ask of our clients before & during the production process which will help keep your project on schedule.

Schedule

Once you’ve received your quote and you’re “ready to go,” call our office and we’ll get you scheduled. We’ll ask you for a signed quote and find out what your payment preferences are (cash, credit card or check.) As soon as we receive your signed quote and deposit (or full payment if paying by credit card), we’ll schedule your template date and your install date. Our goal is to always install your project within a week of template.

Stone Selection

We will ask you to go to a supplier to choose your slabs if you have not already done so. If you are using stone that we have in stock, we’ll ask you to come to our shop to approve your stone there. This should be done prior to your template date.

Because we are working with natural stone, small stone samples may not be representative of the slab used for your project. All clients are encouraged to inspect and approve their slabs. If you have chosen your slabs, but there are faults or sections of the slab that you do not like, please note that we will make every attempt to avoid using that portion of the stone in your project. However, it may be necessary to use all parts of the slab in your project.

Clients may setup an appointment too discuss seam placement and template layout. However, please note that the size & shape of your countertop, along with the size and grain pattern of the slab, may actually determine the way the slab is cut and where the seams are placed for your kitchen. This appointment will need to be within 24 hours of the template in order to keep your project on schedule.

For clients using remnant stone for vanities or other small projects, please note that the material is sold on an “as-is” basis and if the chosen stone is faulty or is damaged during production, a replacement piece will need to be chosen and approved by the client. We will make every effort to find replacement stone of the same color & size but cannot guarantee this will be available.

Project Info Sheet:

We ask all our clients to fax this project info sheet to us prior to template. You may also email it or mail it in with your signed quote. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to open this document.

Template

We will send a template crew to your house to make a model of your existing countertops. We will fabricate your project from the template.

In most cases we will tearout your countertops the same day we make the template. We ask that you clear all items off of your countertops and also empty out items in the drawers and underneath the countertops. Upper cabinets do not need to be removed.

Old countertops will be removed either at template or at install. Please let us know when we template if you would like to keep your old countertops, sinks or anything else we tear out for use in other parts of the house. Otherwise, they are thrown away.

We will disconnect the water line to your sink and dishwasher at time of template. Should you wish to add or omit parts of your kitchen/bathroom to the project, please let us know before the template date. All changes, additions or omissions must be submitted by the client in writing and sent via fax or email.

Please have the following items ready for the template crew. Inman Park will need to have all of this information before we start fabricating your countertops.

Sink – We will take with us back to our shop. If the sink is not available or on site at time of template, we will ask you to drop it off at our production facility, or have your plumbing distributor ship to us. Farmhouse sinks must be installed before a template can be made.

Cook top Cutout or Range Dimensions – if you are using an existing cook top/range, we will take measurements. If the cook top/range is new, we will need the pamphlet (or a copy) with the cutout dimensions. You may have your appliance distributor fax/email the dimensions to us, or you may also find the dimensions online.

Faucet Holes – We do not need the faucet, but will need to know how many faucet holes you would like, their location and their use. For example, you may have one faucet hole, with a soap dispenser hole to the right and a hot-water dispenser hole to the left. If no faucet information is supplied, a single-hole faucet will be drilled and a service charge will apply for a return trip.

Edge Preference – Please specify ¼ Round, ¼ Bevel or Flat Polish. You can view these edges online at www.inmanparkmarble.com, or call the office and we will fax you an Edge Profile Sheet. Should you require a “special” edge, please call the office so that we can discuss edge options and additional charges. If no edge is chosen by time of template, a standard edge will be chosen for you.

Having the above items ready at or before the template date will help keep your project on schedule. Please note, we cannot begin fabricating your project until the above items are received.

Cabinets – If new cabinets are being installed, the base cabinets must be complete before any template takes place. This includes all fillers, all modifications and all cabinet movements. If cabinets are not present, or not complete at time of template, and client insists template is made at that time, Inman Park will not be
responsible for incorrect countertop length or width. Inman Park will not be responsible for countertops made from dimensions provided by the client or clients’ contractor. All requests of this nature must be in writing and must be signed for by the client. Inman Park is not responsible for cabinets that are out of level.
Inman Park will supply the granite, and client will supply level cabinets. We will make every effort to identify a potential or real problem but cannot make any guarantees where cabinets are concerned. If client does not supply level cabinets, it will be determined that molding will be used to cover any gaps. We do not do carpentry of any kind. Please call the office if you need cabinet references.

Install

Your install date will usually take place within a week of the template.

Your sink will be installed when the countertops are installed. Please allow 24 hours before bringing in your plumber to reconnect the sink, dishwasher, install faucet, etc. We may add a sink support at install time.

Our installers do not reconnect plumbing or install any appliances, you will need to bring in your plumber or electrician for this. Should you need referrals, feel free to call the office.

The Installer will secure the dishwasher to the granite if it is onsite and in place at time of install. If it is not onsite and in place, a service charge will be added for return trip. Please note that in most cases there is a gap between the counter and dishwasher that existed before the countertops were installed but not noticeable as other types of surfaces (corian, Formica) may overlap the cabinet by 3/4" or so. As most cabinets are modular, there is rarely a piece connecting the cabinet boxes where the dishwasher is placed. If after your stone installation there is a gap between the granite and the dishwasher, you may decide to have a cabinet person add a trim piece, or have your appliance installer or
plumber adjust the legs of the dishwasher.

Overhangs over 6” may require brackets/corbels underneath the counters to add additional support. These should be installed after installation by your cabinet person. Please call the office for additional information.

Any concerns or issues with the installation must be reported to Inman Park via email or fax within 48 hours of project completion. Our general email address is info@inmanparkmarble.com and our fax number is 404.370.3939.

Payment by cash or check:

We require a 50% deposit and signed quote in order to secure a schedule date and purchase your stone. The balance will be due upon project completion.

Payment by credit card:

We require full payment prior to template for clients paying with a credit card.

Credit cards are accepted through Google Checkout, an online payment system. Clients who wish to pay with a credit card must provide us with a valid email address. An invoice & link is then sent to you through Google Checkout; once you click the link you’re directed to the Google Checkout page where you enter your credit card information. With Google Checkout, you can use almost any type of credit card.

We do not take credit card numbers over the phone or swipe the card; in fact, we never see your card information at all.
